Quanta September notebook shipments up, revenues down sequentially

Aaron Lee, Taipei; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 9 October 2012]

Taiwan-based ODM Quanta Computer shipped 4.7 million notebooks in September, growing by 11.9% on month, but the corresponding consolidated revenues of NT$83.495 billion (US$2.83 billion) slightly dropped by 0.14%, according to the company.

The growth in shipment and drop in consolidated revenue were mainly because shipments of 15-inch MacBook Pro at a higher ASP (average selling price) significantly decreased on month despite increased shipments of other notebook models, according to industry sources.

Inventec and Wistron, two other Taiwan-based ODMs, also reported revenues for September on October 8.
