Taiwan market: PC peripheral, DIY retail channels hike inventories in expectations of increased sales due to Windows 8

Retail channels of PC peripherals and DIY products in the Taiwan market have raised inventory levels and expect 10% sequential growth in fourth-quarter revenues due to expectations surrounding the launch of Windows 8 in late October.

Due to the economic downturns in Europe and the US, as well as weakening demand in China, peripheral and DIY product vendors had taken a conservative attitude over their inventory management and kept inventory levels below those of slow seasons in previous years.

However, vendors started raising their inventory levels in early October and are not only placing their focuses on star products.
