Asustek achieves record November revenues; Pegatron, ASRock see growth

Asustek Computer has announced revenues of NT$39.64 billion (US$1.36 billion) for November, a new monthly record with growths of 11.5% on month and 32.7% on year, while the company's combined revenues from January to November also grew 17.6% on year to NT$344.65 billion.

The company's consolidated revenues for the month also grew almost 20% on month to reach at least more than NT$43 billion.

The strong growth in November was benefited mainly by the company's smooth shipments of Windows 8-based VivoBook and Google's Nexus 7 tablet, according to the company's CFO David Chang.

Chang pointed out that the company's VivoBook already accounted for about 50% of the global touchscreen notebook shipments and its tablet shipments even reached one million units in November.

In the third quarter, Asustek shipped five million notebooks and 2.3 million tablets and the volumes are expected to grow to 5.5 million units and 2.6 million units in the fourth quarter, Chang noted.

As for motherboard, Asustek shipped 5.8 million units in the third quarter, up from 5.4 million units in the second, but the volume is expected to drop to 5.5 million units in the fourth.

For the future, Chang believes that the company will see on-month drop in revenues from December of 2012 to February of 2013, but the company will regain growth in March of 2013. Some market watchers expect Asustek to achieve 10% sequential growth in fourth-quarter revenues.

Asustek is expected to ship 1.9 million notebooks, 3.3 million Eee PCs and 6.3 million tablets in 2012 and in 2013, the volumes will increase to 2.4 million units for notebook products (notebook and Eee PC) and 1.2 million units for tablet.

In additional news, Pegatron Technology has announced revenues of NT$81.78 billion, up 16% on month and 64% on year, while combined revenues for the first 11 months of 2012 reached NT$674.09 billion, up 52% on year. The growth was mainly benefited by the strong orders from iPad mini of about eight million units.

ASRock, a motherboard subsidiary of Pegatron, has announced consolidated revenues of NT$990 million, up 8.1% on month and 2.3% on year with combined consolidated revenues from January to November reached NT$9.87 billion, down 2.7% on year.
