Asustek Computer on December 19 formed a health
cloud computing alliance through cooperation with Taiwan-based Show Chwan Health
Care System to establish a cloud computing ecosystem for health care
management.
The alliance will set up three cloud platforms:
personal health management, health care and medical research.
The personal health management platform will
provide personal cloud storage capacity of at least 5GB for individuals to store
medical records and health-related measurements such as blood pressure, blood
glucose and weight, and access the information via smartphones, tablets and
other terminal devices.
The health care platform will provide health care
services integrated by Show Chwan.
The medical research platform will allow people
to provide personal health-related information for analysis by medical or
research organizations, with results to be offered to medical organizations to
help implement preventive medicine.
For the operation of the three platforms, Asustek
will provide cloud computing technology and data centers while Show Chwan will
help provide personal medical records.
