There were 1.104 billion subscribers to mobile
communication services in China as of the end of November 2012, growing by 0.80%
on month and by 13.21% on year, and 220.49 million (19.97%) of them were 3G
users, according to statistics published by China's Ministry of Industry and
Information Technology (MIIT).
The number of subscribers at the end of November
accounted for 80.6% of the country's population.
Also, there were 279.38 million subscribers to
fixed telephone services in China at the end of November.
In November 2012, mobile phone subscribers in
China sent 70.28 billion text messages, averaging 2.13 text messages per phone
number a day.
