Optical disc drive (ODD) maker Lite-On IT had consolidated revenues of
NT$3.61 billion (US$123 million) for January 2013 increasing 6.7% on month but
decreasing 4.2% on year, according to the company.
Having
been a SSD (solid-state drive) supplier for five PC vendors, SSD shipments and
revenues in January grew on month by more than 30% and over 20%, respectively,
and accounted for over 25% of consolidated revenues, Lite-On IT
said.
Automotive disc player shipments in January increased over 10%, while
shipments of ODDs used in games consoles grew 5-10% in January, Lite-On IT
noted. Revenues from PC-use ODDs in January increased on month by 5-10%, Lite-On
IT indicated.
