Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics and Wistron saw their notebook shipments in February significantly decrease on month due to fewer working days arising from the Lunar New Year in mid-February, and therefore are expected to see shipments in March rebound significantly, according to supply chain makers.
However, the three ODMs will see notebook shipments in April slip on month because vendors are expected to decrease shipments until Intel's launch of Haswell in June, the sources said.
All Taiwan-based ODMs' notebook shipments in the first quarter of 2013 will shrink sequentially and those in the second quarter will remain flat or slightly rise on quarter, the sources indicated.
