Notebook ODMs expect surging growth in cloud computing business in 2013

As cloud computing business opportunities are expanding, several notebook ODMs have been aggressively pushing their related business segments and expect strong revenue growth from these departments in 2013.

Quanta Computer expects its non-notebook business to contribute 30% of its total revenues in 2012 and aims to raise the proportion to 50% after three years, with the cloud computing business being the major driver for the growth.

Wistron's cloud computing subsidiary Wiwynn estimated its revenues to surpass NT$10 billion in 2013, up significantly from 2012, with revenue contribution to reach 15-20%.

In addition to Microsoft, Facebook and Baidu, Wiwynn has also landed orders from Japan-based KDDI to establish a new data center.
