Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) approved 2,738 foreign
direct investment projects (except from China) totaling US$5.559 billion in
2012, respectively increasing 19.93% and 12.18% from 2011, according to MOEA
statistics.
In the
same period, MOEA approved 321 outward direct investment projects (except in
China) proposed by Taiwan-based companies or individuals totaling US$8.099
billion, respectively rising 4.90% and 119.07% from 2011.
Also
in 2012, MOEA approved 138 investment projects proposed by China-based
enterprises totaling US$328.07 million. On the other hand, there were 454
approved projects of direct investment in China proposed by Taiwan-based
companies or individuals totaling US$10.924 billion, decreasing 21.04% and
16.61% respectively from 2011.
