Taiwan
received export orders worth US$39.39 billion in total in December 2012, the
second highest monthly level ever, only trailing the US$40.73 billion recorded
in the preceding month and increasing by 8.5% on year, according to statistics
released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on January
21.
IT/communication products and electronic products were the top two
categories in terms of export order value for December, with the former
generating US$10.58 billion and the latter US$9.08 billion
respectively.
The
value for the fourth quarter of 2012 stood at US$118.50 billion, rising by 8.0%
on quarter and by 7.6% on year, while the value of US$441.01 billion for 2012
slightly increased by 1.1% from 2011.
